Iggesund Paperboard revamps Invercote brand

The new paperboard, initially available in the Invercote G, Creato and Duo versions, has improved printing and mechanical properties and a better whiteness stability.

Philippe Letzelter, development manager at Iggesunds Bruk, said a patented additive delayed the aging symptoms of the paperboard meaning the packaging would have a “longer lifespan”.

“For example, an expensive carton will still be attractive even after sitting on a shelf for a while,” he added.

Iggesund carried out more than 70 test printings on the new paperboard, with about 10 specific properties being tested each time.

The Swedish firm said the development of the new line had benefited from working directly with customers and tapping into their knowledge.

“We’re right on the spot when the job is actually being done and benefit from in-depth feedback from the people doing the printing, gluing or foil lamination,” said application specialist Jonas Adler.
