Innovia wins deal to supply NatureFlex to ‘superfoods’ firm

Dr Vie has chosen NatureFlex NM, a metallised, cellulose-based film made from renewable wood pulp, for the packaging of its entire ‘superfoods’ range, which includes pure cacao products, sports nutrition bars and frozen desserts.

Dr Vie, based in Montreal, individually cuts and shapes the roll of NatureFlex film to wrap each product at its factory.

Innovia said the NM film was suitable for home composting because its metal content was less than 0.02%, which slowed biodegradation by “a matter of days” but did not interfere with biodegradability in any other way.

NatureFlex films are certified to meet the American ASTM D6400 and European EN13432 standards for compostable packaging.

Dr Vie said the Natureflex film “aligned beautifully” with its core values of “promoting wellness and protecting the planet”.
