The Dow Chemical Company, which supplies coatings to the packaging industry, and Petrochemical Industries Company of the State of Kuwait have revealed further details about their $11bn (£5.5bn) proposed joint venture.

The joint venture, K-Dow Petrochemicals, will manufacture and market polyethylene (PE), ethyleneamines, ethanolamines, polypropylene (PP), and polycarbonate and related licensing and catalyst technologies.

K-Dow has also named James R. Fitterling, business group president at Dow Basic Plastics and a member of Dow's management committee, as chief executive.

It revealed that the joint venture's headquarters will be in Michigan, subject to regulatory approval and the final agreement of the deal, which is expected at the end of the year.
