Chief operating officer Joe Barenberg said the gauge used also meant customers did not have to worry about "unpredictable thin spots", meaning savings "from 3% to 8%". Octal was established in 2006 and is investing $300m (£150m) in customised production technology at its plant in Oman. It believes the investment will add an extra 300,000 tonnes of capacity to the market. The company also has sales operations in the US, Europe and Asia.
