Polythene UK to unveil green plastics at easyFairs

The Oxfordshire-based firm supplies a wide range of sectors, including food and furniture and believes that Polyair and Polylite will transform the purchase and use of polythene for UK packaging.

Polyair uses an oxy-degradable additive that is put into the polythene when it is being extruded and degrades in two to three years.

Polythene UK managing director James Woollard describes the material as a “fantastic solution to address the litter problem”.

“Polyair does not need a biologically active environment to start degrading – it will happened even if it left in the open air,” he said.

Polylite, meanwhile, is standard polythene that has been manufactured to operate at lower gauges offering a 20% weight reduction.

Polythene UK will be on stand 310 at easyFairs Ecopak on 24-25 February at the NEC.
