Rowad to construct 26m BOPP plant in Saudi Arabiastevenkiernan, 9 October 2007Be the first to comment on this article Rowad National Plastics Co, a Middle East plastics processor, is to build a biaxially oriented polypropylene (BOPP) plant at a cost of more than 26m (SAR200m). The Dammam, Saudi Arabia-based Rowad International Packaging plant, which will produce materials for snack food, bakery products and confectionery packaging for local consumption, will have a production capacity of 30,000 tonnes a year. Austrian firm DMT Technology Holding will build the 8.7m-wide BOPP film production line. Rowad general manager Mohammed Al-Laabon said the firm also planned to set up marketing offices and warehouses in Europe and the US. Tasnee, a leading Saudi Arabian industrial company, will supply the raw materials for the new plant. "With high-quality PP resins, we will offer BOPP films with unique combinations of toughness, flexibility and transparency with consistency at a competitive cost," said Al-Laabon. Speak Your Mind |
