Rice product manufacturer Veetee has charged RPC Bebo Corby to produce the packaging for its microwavable Veetee Dine In range in the UK.

The firm has patented technology to produce the white trays and printed films and for the UK launch in 2007 sourced the packaging from overseas.

Buy, since January RPC has been producing the packs at the Corby site and Veetee has since increased its estimated orders.

Veetee marketing manager Gill Newnham said the firm had big ambitions for the product and it was essential the UK packaging manufacturer could cope with increased demand.

“At the same time, it is essential that the try delivers the required barrier performance for a one-year shelf life,” she said.

Meanwhile, RPC Containers Oakham is producing a lightweight 3l screen-printed pail for dispensing Boxer Chemicals’ heavy-duty hand wipes.

RPC said a substantial amount of polypropylene had been removed from the standard container, making the products easier to transport. The lid is produced by RPC Market Rasen.

Last month, RPC reported its restructuring plan was delivering results as profits rose in the first quarter of the year. Click here for the full story.
