RPC uses post-consumer waste in APET sheetSimeon Goldstein, 22 December 2009Be the first to comment on this article RPC Cobelplast-Montonate has developed a range of environmentally friendly APET sheets for printing and box applications made from post-consumer scrap. The Eco range is made from between 50% and 70% post-consumer content, which RPC said could still be made into strong and aesthetically pleasing packaging. The sheet is highly printable, with very good UV ink adhesion, but uses material that would otherwise end up in landfill, RPC said. Patrizia De Rudi, business development manager for RPC Cobelplast-Montonate, said: “The launch of our post-consumer recycled Eco range is a positive contribution to reduce the impact of packaging waste, ensuring better sustainability of APET by lengthening the lifecycle of the material.” She continued the firm was committed to using eco-friendly material and stressed the importance of making products that were recyclable after use. RPC Cobelplast-Montonate is based in Sumirago, northern Italy, and produces a range of films for thermoforming and form, fill and seal packaging applications. Speak Your Mind |
