The supermarket's print and packaging manager, Stuart Lendrum, said using Tetra Recart would help Sainsbury's "further reduce the weight of its packaging". "This will make it more efficient for us to transport to our stores, and much easier for our customers to carry home," he said. A Tetra Pak spokesman said Tetra Recart provided a "substantial improvement" in the traceability of the material used in the packaging. The Tetra Recart container weighs 18g, compared with 50g for the equivalent metal container. It is initially being used for multi-packs of four containers, but Sainsbury's has said it will replace single packs with the new format in January. Speak Your Mind |
