Sealed Air has launched Cryovac D-940, a new 11-micron shrink film, which uses less materials to produce.

The company said it is actively pursuing more environmental initiatives, in particular source reduction.

Its goal is to design and manufacture more efficient, thinner and lighter products.

Shrink packaging unit European marketing director, Helios Ruiz, said: “Our aim is to continue to reduce the amount of material used in developing new stronger and more versatile films.

“Sealed Air believes that source reduction is the best way to produce a “green” package as it holds far more environmental benefits than the more common environmentally friendly bio degradable materials,” he said.

Sealed Air’s range includes high performance thin shrink films such as the 11-micron Cryovac D95 and the 13-micron Cryovac Impact.
