Sealed Air has worked with palaeontologists to transport a 77-million-year-old dinosaur fossil across America.

The Sealed Air team used Instapak foam to cushion the fossil during its transportation from Montana to the NASA Space Centre in Houston for detailed scans and research.

Camera teams from the Discovery Channel filmed the 2,000-mile journey.

Palaeontologists from the Judith River Dinosaur Institute in Malta discovered the fossil, which they have named Leonardo.

The Guinness Book of Records has recognised Leonardo as the ‘most complete reticulated dinosaur fossil ever unearthed’.

‘Obviously an opportunity like this is rare,’ said Stuart Roberts from Sealed Air. ‘Working with a team of experts to transport a 77-million-year-old, irreplaceable item was one of the most rewarding challenges the team has experienced yet.’

Sealed Air operates across 51 countries. Its brands include Bubble Wrap, Jiffy, Instapak and Cryovac packaging technology.
