Iggesund Paperboard has announced further price rises for its Incada folding boxboard and Invercote solid bleached board, marking the second round of price increases for the company this year.

The company said that it will increase the price of both boards by $100 (£80) per tonne for deliveries as of 1 September 2008.

Iggesund public relations manager Staffan Sjöberg said: “The whole industry suffers from the same problem, rising energy and raw material costs.”

Iggesund previously raised the price of Incada by £44 per tonne and Invercote by £54 per tonne on 15 May and 1 June, respectively.

The firm had tried to raise the price of Incada in autumn 2007 and failed.

Iggesund’s announcement follows Smurfit Kappa’s announcement in June that it would increase the price of white-top and brown kraftliner in the UK and Ireland to recover high input and exchange rate costs.

Iggesund is part of the Holmen Group and has mills in Sweden and Workington in the UK.
