Domino to boost growth in RFID

Domino Printing Sciences will use its three acquisitions in the past year to increase growth in coding flexible packaging materials, RFID track-and-trace and outer case coding.

Domino’s research and development spend also rose by a third last year to £10.9m, as it geared up for new product launches.

Sales for the year to 31 October 2006 rose 9% to £208.4m, while pre-tax profits were up 3% at £28.2m.

Last year’s acquisition of Easyprint, a Danish manufacturer of thermal transfer overlay printers, took Domino into the flexible packaging sector, a growing market for coding and marking.

Domino also expects to win major RFID contracts during 2007 after buying systems integrator Enterprise Information Systems.
