DCB Mouldings has become one of the largest independent foam-moulding businesses in the UK after buying Linpac Moulded Foams.

The firm, which will now be known as Moulded Foams, has added Linpac’s manufacturing sites in Tonypandy, in south Wales, and Scunthorpe to its existing plants in Cumbernauld, near Glasgow, and the Shetland Islands.

John Thornberry, managing director of the new company, said he would invest in new plant at Scunthorpe and Tonypandy to support the growing demand for cellular foam.

DCB Mouldings has invested more than £1m at Shetland and Cumbernauld since 2004.

Clydesdale Bank arranged funding for the deal.
