Autobox stand features flexible Hipak box-maker

Autobox is demonstrating its new Hipak single-pass box-making machine at Total.

The Hipak machine, available in three models from the Leighton Buzzard firm, can produce short runs in more than 50 Fefco styles.

The units cost from £38,000 to £50,000 and can make boxes from 100mm to 2.4m wide. They can produce 700-1,000 typical A4-sized boxes per hour.

Autobox sales director Barry Tabor claimed the machine’s flexibility made it unique.

“No other box-making machine can be changed so quickly and without having to change tools,” he said. “It can produce a different box size in less than one minute.”

Box-makers would also benefit from reduced stock-holding, being able to produce custom-sized boxes on a just-in-time basis, he said.

An on-board computer enables the Hipak to store previously made box sizes, giving operators fast access to settings for different box sizes.

Autobox is on stand 4451.
