A new web-based packaging quotation system is being exhibited to the industry for the first time at Total.

Packagingsearch.com is a subscription-based website that generates quotes for packaging specifiers at the touch of a button.

Subscribers looking for a quote are asked to fill out an online form that is submitted to relevant suppliers for quotations and then returned to the subscriber.

The firm is looking for more suppliers to join its database to further extend its product offering, which ranges from corrugated boxes to crates.

Anonymity is maintained on both sides so neither the manufacturer nor the supplier can be identified until the quote is accepted.

The company has three levels of subscription charges, based around an annual fee, but is investigating the possibility of pay per quote charges.
