Aerosol event to tackle REACH and terrorism
Security and sustainability will be the key topics debated at the Aerosols 2007 conference later this month, according to the British Aerosol Manufacturers' Association (BAMA).
Jeff Hart from the Department for Transport's dangerous goods unit will address industry concerns about the impact of terrorism on aerosol-filling plants.
He will outline UK security measures around the transportation of dangerous goods that came into force in 2005, and will explain some of the key measures to improve security at factories.
The event, which takes place in Manchester on 18-20 September, will also debate the European REACH (Registration, Evaluation and Authorisation of Chemicals) regulations, which came into force in June.
BAMA chairman John Bigley said REACH was "very demanding" for many of his members because a lot of chemicals are used in filling products.
