DS Smith Speciality Packaging was the big winner at last night's UK Packaging Awards, picking up five prizes.

The firm, based in Launceston, Cornwall, triumphed in categories for Packaging Company of the Year, Environmental Company of the Year, Corrugated Packaging, Retail-Ready Packaging and Supply Chain Solution. DS Smith Packaging chief executive Bob McLellan was also named CEO of the Year.

Other major winners included Dyecor, which took the Rigid Plastic Packaging and Technology Innovation awards, and Ardagh Glass, in the Sustainable Pack and Glass Packaging categories.

TV presenter Quentin Wilson proved a worthy host for the evening and winners celebrated by dancing into the wee hours.
