Loewy adds Seymourpowell in drive to become 'super agency'
Marketing services group Loewy has taken another step in its bid to become a £100m 'super agency' with the acquisition of product and packaging design specialist Seymourpowell.
Loewy chief executive Charlie Hoult said the deal marked a "momentous milestone" in his firm's quest for growth and would allow the companies to "join the dotted lines" in creating better products for their clients.
Seymourpowell will retain its name, Fulham offices and all 65 employees following the acquisition.
Founding partner Richard Seymour is currently creative director of design for Unilever's Dove brand and oversees all its packaging design.
The announcement follows Loewy's purchase of Bristol-based retail packaging design specialist Epoch Design in July, and design agency William Murray Hamm (WMH) in December 2006.
"We are building an agency of integrity and scale, made up of companies that are leaders in their field, such as branding specialists The Team and design supremos WMH," added Hoult.
