M-real Consumer Packaging has announced further price increases across Europe.

The company will raise the price of GC1 and GC2 folding boxboard by EUR60 per tonne on invoiced orders from 12 November.

This follows the increase in the price of Kemiart coated and uncoated white top kraftliner grades – of EUR40 per tonne in Continental Europe and £30 per tonne in the UK – that the firm announced last month.

M-real is just one of several major suppliers in the paper-based packaging sector to announce price increases.

DS Smith and Smurfit Kappa have also been trying to push through price increases for corrugated as they attempt to recover rises in the costs of raw materials and energy.
