Zebra launches RFID-ready label printers
Zebra Technologies, the RFID and coding specialist, has launched two new label printers that offer the option of RFID upgrades in the future.
The ZM400 and ZM600 machines can be used for applications as diverse as shipping, compliance labelling, asset tracking, transportation and hospitality ticketing.
"Basically, you buy it as a barcode printer, but should RFID head your way, you've protected your investment," said Zebra supply chain manager Clive Fearn.
Zebra's clients currently include Coca-Cola HBC in Italy, international delivery service TNT, and Shoe Zone in the UK.
Zebra launched the ZM series at the Zebra Inside Out event in Manchester last month, and invited customers to view and discuss the machines.
The event will be toured around the nine regions in Europe covered by Zebra, starting in Valencia, Spain.
The new ZM machines will replace the existing Z4M and Z6M ranges, which will be phased out over time.
