Stäger hatches UK growth plan
Swiss packaging group Stäger aims to expand its presence in the UK after signing a co-operation agreement with Clear Packaging, the transparent pack specialist.
Stäger, which also specialises in transparent plastic packaging, will install equipment at Clear’s Coventry site to enable the production of a wider range of packs, including round containers, drums and cylinders.
Clear Packaging sales and marketing director Neil Farmer said his company would benefit from being able to tap in to the Swiss packaging group’s expertise.
Stäger has already been selling into the UK market through Different Packaging, a Leicestershire-based agent.
Different Packaging’s contract with Stäger expires at the end of November and at this stage it looks unlikely that it will be renewed.
