Proseal eyes sandwich makers with compact kit
Proseal, the heat-sealing machinery and tooling manufacturer, is targeting small-scale sandwich manufacturers with a new machine.
The Proseal SP30, a compact version of the firm's SP60, is used for the de-nesting, erecting and sealing of cardboard sandwich skillets. The firm said it had already received several orders.
The machine, which is 6.5m long and 70cm wide, operates at up to 30 packs per minute and can accommodate a variety of skillet widths.
The SP30 is manufactured to food industry approved hygiene standards and incorporates washdown protection technology.
Additional features include a menu-driven control panel and a batch pack counter.
Proseal developed the machine to offer the flexibility of smaller production runs and frequent pack changeovers, said director Steve Malone.
He said: "With an increasing number of retailers showing interest in cardboard skillets, many more sandwich manufacturers will need to offer this type of pack."
