Rieke defeats dispensing difficulties with larger HVDS range at Interpack

Rieke Dispensing will use April's Interpack show to launch new versions of its Airless HVDS range of dispensers, which exceed the previous 500ml volume limit.

The company will unveil 600ml, 700ml and one-litre models of the Airless HVDS (High Viscosity Dispensing System), which is said to achieve a minimum 98% product evacuation.

Rieke designed the HVDS for dermatological emollient creams and other products with a high viscosity, which can be difficult to dispense.

The firm will also launch the Mini Airless range of dispensers for premium creams and lotions, available in 15ml, 25ml and 35ml sizes, at Interpack, which takes place on 24-30 April at the Messe Düsseldorf.

The Mini Airless features a specially designed valve and is targeted at the travel market.

Rieke took two years to develop the Airless HVDS, which uses a combination of airless and piston-up technology to push the cream from the bottom of the container.

Newbury-based Genus Pharmaceuticals was the first user of the HVDS in August 2007, when it relaunched Cetraben, an emollient cream for skin conditions, in a 500g polypropylene version of the container.

Rieke will also exhibit the RS30 sauce and cream dispensing system for food applications.
