Constantia Packaging's revenue grows

Constantia Packaging, the Austrian aluminium, corrugated board and flexible specialist, has reported 48% growth in revenue to 1.6bn EUR (£1.3bn) in 2007.

Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation increased by 81% to €254m for the year, compared with €140m in 2006.

Constantia said the results were boosted by its acquisition of a 75% stake in aluminium specialist Austria Metall.

"The excellent results of the existing segments contributed to the best financial year in Constantia Packaging Group's history," it added.

Constantia Packaging employs 8,400 people in Europe, Asia and North America. It has two operations in the UK - Constantia Flexibles in Kent, and Danapak Flexibles in Dundee.
