Packaging exhibition specialist Easyfairs is to launch a show in Dublin, Ireland, next year.

The show will take place at the Royal Dublin Society Centre on 18-19 June 2009.

The exhibition will focus on packaging machinery, print systems, robotic automation, sustainable packaging and packaging innovations.

Easyfairs UK managing director Peter Heath said: "Ireland demands its own packaging show, a place where the thriving SME community can meet buyers and decision makers from European food and drink, pharmaceutical, cosmetics and packaged goods companies."

The print and packaging industry employs more than 16,500 people in 600 companies in Ireland. It generates a turnover in excess of €2.4bn (£1.9bn) a year with output having increased by 26% in the past five years.

Easyfairs is also launching shows in Poland in April 2009 and in Russia in October 2009.
