Middleton Paper has installed a Pasaban KST/C 1800 sheet cutter, which will enable the company to focus on the conversion of packaging and graphical board products.

The new machine, which will be operational from May, will join two existing sheet cutters - a Pasaban 1600 and Valmet 1450 - and a mill winder.

Middleton Paper has also invested in a new software package, Papersoft, which encompasses all functions from purchase and sales order processing, production and stockholding, accounting and management reporting. The system is scheduled to go live at the end of May.

The company completed its warehouse expansion programme last year to enable a total storage capacity of 15,000 tonnes at the central office and production facility in Walsall, West Midlands.
