Rigid Containers begins £3m Selby expansion
Corrugated board specialist Rigid Containers, part of the VPK Group, has revealed details of a £3m expansion of its plant in Selby, North Yorkshire.
The building work will extend both production and storage facilities to increase capacity by 40% from 100 million square metres to 140 million square metres.
It will include an expansion of the roll store and finished goods area, where storage capacity will increase from 6,000 to 14,000 pallets.
The firm expects to complete the building work by the end of the year.
Investment in the site will include the installation of a SuperNova 2 multi-point gluer, which will provide straight-line, crash-lock and four-point gluing.
Rigid sales director Chris Trevithick said: "Our enlarged Selby plant will further underpin the Rigid and VPK policy of operating strategically located, world class and fully integrated production sites, with the core emphasis focused on providing an unrivalled supply chain service."
Rigid Containers also operates a manufacturing plant in Desborough, in Northamptonshire.
