DuPont to reveal flexo sustainability research at Drupa

DuPont Packaging Graphics will unveil the results of its research into the sustainability of flexographic printing at print fair Drupa 2008, which begins next week.

DuPont, which will exhibit next to packaging pre-production specialist EskoArtwork, said the data would help brand owners and print buyers "looking to reduce upstream environmental impacts".

The study is the fruit of more than a year's research into the energy use and greenhouse gas emissions from flexography, in conjunction with packaging printers and sustainability experts.

Also on the display will be EskoArtwork's two new Cyrel Digital Imagers, which combine with DuPont's Cyrel photopolymer digital plates. One is designed for flexo sleeve imaging, the other for automated flexo platemaking.

Belgian firm EskoArtwork will also show the new Kongsberg XP digital cutting machines for short-run production.

Drupa runs from 29 May to 11 June at the Messe Düsseldorf. DuPont and EskoArtwork are both in Hall 8A, on stands B23 and A23, respectively.
