Clifton Packaging recognised for business achievement
Clifton Packaging has won the business and commerce award at the Lloyds TSB Central Jewel Awards, which showcase talent in the Asian community.
The Leicester-based firm was set up by Sheikh brothers Khalid, Tahir, Zahid and Shahid with £500 27 years ago. Their multimillion-pound set up now employs more than 65 people.
Chairman Khalid Sheikh said: "Like many Ugandan Asians we came here with nothing and worked hard to reach the position we are in today."
Clifton Packaging supplies services from graphic design to flexo and gravure printing, and hand or automated packing.
The company was chosen from thousands of nominations from across the region spanning business, education, politics and the charity sector.
