Pharmaceutical packaging specialist Comar is targeting liquid drug manufacturers with the launch of its custom-moulded and printed dosage cup, the AccuCup.

The AccuCup is available in a standard clear moulded format or with details printed in up to two colours using FDA compliant food-grade inks on the outside of the cup, capable of withstanding washing.

The standard cup design holds up to 4tsp/20ml and fits several 24mm CR closures.

Comar is marketing the cup as a safer alternative to embossed and thermoformed dosing cups that may be difficult to read and accurately measure out medicine.

The product has already been snapped-up by several major "over the counter" brand medications, particularly in the paediatric markets.

It is manufactured at Comar's headquarters in New Jersey in the US on a new production line.
