RPC develops container for Wizz Products

RPC Containers Llantrisant, the manufacturer of injection- and blow-moulded packaging, has developed a second container for Wizz Products with a trigger spray developed by Guala Dispensing.

The firm has created a 750ml design for Leeds-based Wizz Products after previously supplying a custom-moulded 825ml bottle for premium products and markets.

The new bottle features the grip area of the previous bottle but is almost square, tapering up from the base onto a sweeping shoulder with a recessed panel for the label. The Wizz logo has been placed on the grip area, but the bottle can be made without the logo for private-label products.

Wizz has used the same trigger spray, combining the nozzle technology and spray action of the redesigned Guala TS3. It has a two-part shroud supplied in a range of colours to replicate different products in the Wizz family. A wider lever requires less pressure from the consumer to deliver a consistent 1.3ml dose.

The 750ml PET bottle is injection stretch blow-moulded for clarity and performance.

RPC is also working with Wizz to introduce post-consumer recycled content.

Wizz Products managing director David Mann said having two trigger bottles with the same high quality of function and practicality would enable the firm to "better serve" its target markets.

Wizz Products supplies household cleaning and laundry products under the Wizz, Oxi Ultra Plus, Sonic Boom and Pink Stuff brands. It was founded in 2003 and has a manufacturing plant in Redditch, Worcestershire.

The firm, which employs around 50 people, acquired the Stardrops brand from Huddersfield-based Thornton & Ross earlier this month.
