Ball Corporation to invest in Belgrade facility

Ball Corporation, the metal and plastic packaging firm, is set to invest EUR25m (£20.2m) in its beverage can factory in Belgrade, Serbia to enable it to produce can lids.

According to the Tanjug news agency, Serbian Prime Minister Mirko Cvetkovic and minister of economy and regional development Mladjan Dinkic met with Ball Corporation executives last week to discuss the planned investment.

The expansion will create 100 new jobs.

The company was unavailable to comment further.

Ball Corporation has 12 production plants in Europe in the UK, Germany, the Netherlands and France.
