Mitsubishi launches X-Barrier in Europe
Mitsubishi Plastics, the Japanese chemical company, is to launch its new high gas barrier sheet-based film X-Barrier in Europe.
The company claims that X-Barrier achieves the world’s highest level of water vapour barrier properties, with a water vapour transmission rate of 10-4 g/m2/day.
It also has gas barrier properties for oxygen and carbon dioxide, it said.
X-Barrier’s custom made functions provide customers with the ability to tailor heat resistance, high humidity resistance, climate durability and bending durability.
MP said the material is suitable for packaging medical devices, pharmaceutical products, easily oxidisable and rustable materials and vacuum heat-insulating building materials.
X-Barrier was launched on 1 July in Japan and will now be distributed globally.
Mitsubishi Plastics specialises films, PET bottles, plastic cases and foil sheets.
