WINNERCCL Decorative Sleeves: Marston’s Marmite Jar
Tinkering with the iconic pack for one of the nation’s favourite toast-toppers must be a daunting task but it’s one that CCL Decorative Sleeves pulled off with aplomb for this sporty spin on the traditional Marmite jar. Brand owner Unilever devised the limited-edition spread, containing a recipe tweaked with the addition of Marston’s Pedigree beer, to show support for the English cricket team in the 2009 Ashes. Judges commented on the success in recreating the feel of a cricket ball.

The firm shrunk a PET sleeve onto the pack, which hugs the famous curves while remaining scuff-resistant and, most importantly, keeping the graphics accurately centred – not bad given the asymmetric shape of the jar. Howzat, as they say.

Labelgraphics Glasgow: Sipsmith London Dry Gin

The best labels make a real impression and Labelgraphics’ classy uncoated paper label for Sipsmith London Dry Gin does exactly that, giving the bottle a quality, artisan feel that confidently stands out in the premium gin category.

NSD International: Stiffys Shots Kola Kubez/Jaffa Cakes
When a striking new look for alcoholic drink Kola Kubez was launched in late 2009, it wasn’t just its red bottle’s graphics that changed. A new printed polypropylene label finished with a satin lacquer, to create a no-label feel, was introduced; an orange Jaffa Cakes variant followed soon after.
