Baxters Food Group has bought Domino’s M-Series print and apply labelling system as part of a revamp at its Colchester plant.

The group already uses Domino’s A-series continuous inkjet printer and the new M-Series will print labels for application to shrinkwrapped trays.

“Over the last four years I have had a positive experience with Domino as an organisation,” said Toby Ford, maintenance engineer at Baxters.

“The workload at our plant can vary as many of the products, such as salads and mayonnaise, are seasonal.

“As a result, we need to have maximum uptime in order to meet our deadlines, and Domino’s M-Series print and apply labelling system proved to be the perfect solution for us.”

Ford added that the system allows for a “fast changeover of consumables” while the electronic height adjustment allows for different sized products coming down the line.
