Chesapeake is targeting the premium brand market with a range of decorated shaped tubes that it says could replace tin-plate containers.

The firm can manufacture both spirally bound and linear-drawn tubes at its Hamilton site and its Figured range can be shaped to reflect the product and decorated with a seamless outer wrap.

Katy Buchan has been appointed brand champion for Figured. She said that the team’s aim was to get involved with projects early on in order for brands to benefit from their manufacturing experience.

Chesapeake manufactures the inner liner, the outer wrap and the tubes themselves, but not the lids and bases. The pack can be produced with a circumference of up to 540mm and is being pitched as a replacement for tin-plate containers.

Brands can use both Chesapeake’s in-house design team and manufacturing capabilities to help them choose which format suits their product.

“Figured can help reinforce a brand’s premium quality and offers pack differentiation that is essential in today’s competitive retail environment,” said Buchan.

The products can be manufactured in high or small volumes.
