Defra announces new advisory committee on packaging

The new ACP also features Marks & Spencer’s head of packaging Helene Roberts, Andrew Roberts from BPI and David Williams for Corus Steel Packaging Recycling.

Defra said the new committee would advise on achieving the goals of last year’s packaging strategy and other areas such as producer obligations and life-cycle analysis.

The ACP, which starts a four-year term on 1 March, has also been widened to include representatives from local authorities and compliance groups. The chair is paid £350 a day and the rest of the committee is unpaid.
