GlaxoSmithKline is to headline the conference line-up in the pharmaceuticals zone at this year’s Total Processing & Packaging show.

Tim Shutt, packaging equipment lead of the pharmaceuticals giant’s technical packaging centre of excellence, will speak on France Coding at the Interphex pharmaceuticals hub at the 25-27 May show, which takes place at the NEC.

Other big names in the schedule include R5 Pharmaceuticals, Atacama Labs, Upperton, Oystar Manesty, Cognex, Hapa and Pharma Tech, while Mike Warren, formerly of Niro Pharma, will chair the seminars.

Trends and challenges for the pharmaceutical manufacturing sector under the microscope in the seminars will include anti-counterfeiting and mass serialisation, track and trace technologies, 2D data matrix codes and more.

Ian Crawford, Total group exhibition director, said: “The seminar programme is an excellent focal point for the Hub and promises to deliver some very interesting presentations and stimulating debates.”

The Interphex Hub at the show has been created for visitors from pharma manufacturing companies to easily find all the latest innovations and developments and discuss current issues and regulatory requirements in this fast-developing and constantly evolving industry.
