Bottlegreen has called on Ziggurat Brands, O-I and CCL to develop packaging for a limited edition range of sparkling press drinks, which will go on sale in the run-up to Christmas

The designs were created by textile design graduate Rachel Pitman, who won a talent competition run by Bottlegreen Drinks and its branding and design agency Ziggurat Brands.

Ziggurat came up with the idea of approaching second and third-year design students to conceive a label design for the pressé bottles. Once four finalists were chosen, the vote was taken to the public via an online gallery on consumer websites and a winner was chosen.

Lucy Wiltshire, Bottlegreen’s brand manager, said: “We believe that Rachel’s winning designs reflect the essence of Bottlegreen’s stylish and premium quality, while retaining the company’s traditional British roots.”

Glass bottle maker O-I manufactures all Bottlegreen’s bottles, while the limited edition run was shrink-wrapped by A&S. Labels were printed by CCL Decorative Sleeves.

The brightly coloured designs features vibrant imagery representing each of the four flavours – ginger and lemongrass; elderflower; cox’s apple; and pomegranate and elderflower.

Publicity for the campaign was fuelled by Bottlegreen’s Twitter and Facebook profiles.

Pitman is a Loughborough University design graduate. Her Sparkle Blossom design was inspired by the structure of elderflower blossom. She won a cash prize and two weeks’ work experience at Ziggurat.

The Sparkle Blossom design will appear on all Bottlegreen pressés in supermarkets from the beginning of November and will be priced at £2.39 for a 750ml bottle.
