No sign of slowdown as PPMA visitor numbers hit 2009 levels

Organisers of last month’s PPMA Show have today reported that more than 11,000 visitors came through the doors of the packaging and processing machinery event

The total figure of 11,072 – which is still subject to an audit – was in line with visitor numbers for the 2009 show, according to organiser Reed Exhibitions.

PPMA marketing manager Archana Sharma said: “This year’s show has certainly lived up to expectations with a high volume of quality visitors coming through the doors of the NEC.

“There was a real buzz on the show floor and it was wonderful to see the networking that was taking place between visitors and exhibitors.

She added that the addition of the Manufacturing Forum – a series of seminars with speakers from the likes of Marks & Spencer and the Packaging Society – and the Ones to Watch Awards for the future stars of the sector – had “helped add a new edge” to the show.

In today’s statement on the show, Neil Fowell, managing director at exhibitor Yamato Scale Dataweigh, said: “The visitors were of a high quality and spot on in terms of target for us – plus there was a constant stream of them to our stand which is always encouraging.”

New exhibitor KDH Projects’ marketing manager Anna Edwards added: “This is the first time we have exhibited at the PPMA Show and we’ve generated a lot of leads which is promising.”
