In a brief statement this afternoon (12 August), the OFT said that it had decided not to refer the £205m deal to the Competition Commission.
After the transaction, which was first announced in early July, DS Smith will become a leading player in the French corrugated market, where Otor is focused on high-margin retail-ready work.
Further details of the proposed acquisition, which will be chief executive Miles Roberts’ first major action since he took on the job in early May, were made public earlier this week in a document for shareholders.
