Amorim, the Portuguese cork producer, is supplying Chinese firm COFCO Wines & Spirits, which is the exclusive supplier to the Beijing Olympic Games

COFCO’s flagship brand Great Wall Wine will be served to Olympic team members and delegates and the bottles are all sealed with natural cork.

COFCO, which has a longstanding relationship with Amorim, is using the Olympics to help promote the Chinese wine industry internationally.

Portugal produces around a half of the global supply of cork and Amorim, located 20 miles south of Porto, is one of the country’s largest manufacturers.
