Some people think you’d have to be nuts to volunteer for a gruelling 26-mile run. We don’t know about that, but we do know that nut supplier Sun Valley’s packaging buyer Neil McIntyre has signed up for this year’s London Marathon, held on 25 April. Having run the marathon three times before, McIntyre is hoping to raise £2,000 for the Hospice of the Good Shepherd in Ellesmere Port. “I’ve been amazed at the response from our packaging suppliers, particularly Cardway Cartons and Amcor Flexibles,” he told PN towers. “We’re well on the way to smashing the target.” The PN team wishes him luck. Protection packet
The New York City Health Department has called on New Yorkers to overhaul the packs for its NYC condoms, which are given out free across the city. Inhabitants of the city that never sleeps over the age of 17 can enter the competition, and the winning designs will appear on packs next autumn.

Fine whine
Palm-beached billionaire William Koch is so fed up of buying vintage bottles of wine that turn out to be fakes that he has taken it upon himself to sue the sellers. According to The Drinks Business, Koch estimated he’s spent US$4m on fine wine that has turned out to be fake. It is reported that he said: “I’m going after this like a junkyard dog… I’m not giving up.”
