Both companies are based in the north-east of England and boosts PFF’s workforce to more than 225. According to PFF, the deals enable it to increase production to over 60 million units per month.

Andy Bairstow, PFF managing director, said: “The acquisition of IPS and Thermopak furthers strengthens our ability to provide the complete full service packaging solution – from initial concept through to final delivery of the product. In addition, it cements our position in the market place as one of the UK’s largest independent packaging manufacturers.”

PFF’s clients include major food brands, as well as retailers including Tesco, Sainsbury, Morrisons, Asda, Aldi and Lidl.

IPS is based in Washington and its site includes an ‘Innovation Centre’, which operates as a hub for the product packaging design team to work on bespoke products. This complements PFF’s 9,290sqm site in Keighley.

Bairstow added: “We also felt it was the perfect time for PFF Packing Group to go through a rebrand process to reflect the evolution of the company and our new capabilities. The final part of this process is the launch of our new website which is an essential tool as we continue to grow and offers a new proposition to visitors.

“We wanted to create a site which illustrates our capabilities to deliver bespoke packaging and furthermore demonstrates our commitment to providing our customers with the right packaging solution to meet their specific requirements. It is sleek, easy to navigate and offers a wealth of information on the group, whilst reinforcing the personal, high quality, professional service we strive to deliver at each stage of the ‘customer journey’ from concept to consumer.”
