Rigid packaging specialist Plastique said its paper and rPet material proved popular at the Total Processing and Packaging show where it was officially launched to the public.

Flextrus Paperlite with rPet is an FSC-certified material which can be thermoformed into many different shapes.

The material can be pre-printed, thermoformed, film lidded, and heat sealed to itself or to conventional rPet rigid plastic packaging to create different forms.

Plastique has initially targeted the material at the MAP food and non-food sectors and received lots of enquiries at the show.

Darryl Thompson, sales and marketing executive at Plastique told Packaging News that the firm had seen interest from “every single market” at Total.

Also on display at total was Plastique’s Lo.G thermoformed protective packaging, which comes in a wraparound or end cap formats.

The plastic nesting pack can be used to protect all manners of products, such as wine bottles and vases, but uses less space than EPS.
