The UK Packaging Awards dominated the headlines this month as Packaging News readers continued to read about the winners from the night.

Apart from the innovative packs recognised in the awards, readers were keen to find out more about Ballantine’s self-illuminating whisky bottle, making it the second most-read story in November.

Meanwhile, Arden Packaging’s slip into administration and the landslide at Kenross Containers were also closely followed by readers throughout the month.

The news that private label goods manufacturer McBride’s chief executive Miles Roberts is to replace Tony Thorne when he retires from the top spot at DS Smith early next year marked the end of an era at the corrugated behemoth.
