Energy secretary Chris Huhne has recently has pledged to cut carbon emissions by 50% by 2025 compared with 1990 levels

He wants the UK to become a world leader in committing to legally binding carbon emission targets. He also wants to “ensure low carbon energy security and decarbonisation is achieved at least cost to the consumer”.

However, Huhne’s pledges have been met with consternation from leading industry figures. Some say that this move will “crucify industry”.

For this month’s poll, Packaging News is asking whether government plans to cut carbon emissions by 2025 will damage UK packaging?
