Wincanton wins PetCare work

Wincanton has won a five-year contract to manage the speciality packing unit of Nestlé Purina PetCare.

The supply chain services provider will manage production from a 15,000sqm site in Wisbech, Cambridgeshire, near the Nestlé plant.

ABB robotic high-speed packers will put the products into multi-packs for delivery to retailers across the UK.
A satellite location will store base product and dry raw materials from Nestlé Purina’s manufacturing operations.

For the past seven years, Wincanton has managed Nestlé Purina’s national distribution centre from its site in Coleshill, Birmingham.

Nestlé Purina’s co-packing contract manager, Patrick Sullivan, said Wincanton could “significantly improve efficiencies” in its supply chain.
