Depending on the conditions the products decompose within 180 days and the material is then reused as compost, biogas or topsoil.
Vegware founder and managing director Joe Frankel said compostability was an exciting development and would help customers save money as well as being good for the environment.
“It has taken years of R&D, but now our full range can be commercially composted with food waste rather than go to landfill,” said Frankel.

In October, Vegware sold 20% of its business to venture capitalists Bradenham Partners.
